Application: Alogliptin (English: Alogliptin), trade name nishina, is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor oral anti-diabetes drug, developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Industry Co., LTD., Japan in 2005. Like other type 2 diabetes drugs, alagliptin does not increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. Similar to other lipins, alogliptin causes little weight gain, has a relatively low risk of hypoglycemia and has moderate hypoglycemic activity. Alagliptin, like other lipins, is commonly used in combination with metformin in patients who cannot control blood sugar with metformin alone.
